Abstract

Are some taxation systems just and others not? Can free market rules be applied to them?
Applying van Dun’s theory from “The Logic of Law” (2009), Rothbard’s claim of the
impossibility of just taxation (Rothbard, 1982) shall be analysed along scenarios from setting up financing of a small business towards forced contribution to cooperate projects in reply to Hayek’s challenge on progressive taxation where hey says that “redistribution by progressive taxation has come to be almost universally accepted as just. Yet it would be disingenuous to avoid discussing this issue” (Hayek, 2009, p. 266).
